how I get out of a funk

Those days, we all have them. You just don’t feel like yourself, you’re Eeyore carrying a big cloud over your head. It’s totally okay to feel this way, not every day is peachy, that’s normal, that’s life! On these days where I find it really hard to escape that cloud, I accept that’s how I'm feeling and don’t try to force myself out of it, just know that eventually it will pass.

Here are some of my fave things to do to bring a little more sunshine to my day…

Music

Pop some music on or your fave playlist and dance or just listen to the lyrics if dancing isn't your thing. Nothing like a dance party with yourself to boost your mood!

Talk or Write It Out

Talk to a friend, your partner, a loved one, someone you trust. Call them and just tell them how you’re feeling or whats going on and just allow yourself to be heard. If you don’t feel like talking, journal! Write it out in a steady stream on a page and I promise you will feel lighter after you do!

Get Outside

If its possible, get out into nature, even if its just for 5 minutes. Leave your phone behind and just listen to the sounds in the environment around you, this really helps me get out of my head.

Laugh

Pop on something you know will make you laugh, it could be your fave Friends episode or something by your favourite comedian. Laughter is a sure way to get you out of a funk stat!

Rest

Maybe you just need to go back to bed and shut off the world for a little while. Sometimes rest can be the best reset, your brain and your body will thank you for it x
